LS4

Ok here is a *beta* version of my new LS4 program. LS4 stands for "Leonard Small Soustractive Sound Synthesys". Since I see some very good 64Kb PC demos with fantastic synthetic music (cf. "TheProduct") I decide to write my own Synth library. I release that beta version to allow some musician testing my synth. You can load/save instruments and compose a very short riff to test your parameters. Then, in the future, I'll make a complete sound program. If you're a musician and you compose some nice riff or instruments, please send them to me !

Why LS4 instead of some good music program such as "Buzz" or "Psycle" ? First, LS4 first goal is to write 64Kb demo, so it's designed to be small ! Second, it's designed to be fast ! Final synth version will probably take less than 3% CPU on P2,233Mhz.

Some notes: The main window allow you to play with the synth. You can load/save settings. You can do a "never releasing" note by setting the "sustain" to 0 in the volume enveloppe. (just press "note off" to stop that kind of instrument).

For test purpose, I include a distortion box and a delay line on the synth. In the final program, it will be external sound machines.

Last but not least, you can compose a short riff with what is named "riff sequencer". (pretty good name isn't it ?). You can write WAV file if you want. You can load/save your best riff too !

I fastly made a little instrument called "leosynth.ls4" within this LS4 package.

(You need to install the great DirectX API to run)

Have fun !
